Giveaway! The Abbey Coat Sewing Pattern by Jamie Christina

Today I have a giveaway for you, lovely readers! The Abbey Coat Sewing Pattern by Jamie Christina (remember I posted about it here?) I have 3 patterns to giveaway to 3 readers. All you have to do to is comment on this post. How about if you tell me what is your first sewing project of 2012.

And, by the way, I have a few more giveaways in store for you, too. I will have some giveaways of some of the final inventory from my old shop (which is now officially closed) and more.

So, back to today! Please do check out Jamie's lovely shop - her sewing patterns are pretty, well-written little pamphlets that explain every step very clearly with pictures and diagrams as well. I love her blog, Pretty Ditty, too!

Giveaway ends Sunday, January 8 at 10pm Central Standard Time. Winner will be picked randomly from comments on this post. Good luck!

My first sewing project of 2012 is to create a replacement quilt for my granddaughter because I DESTROYED the one I had intended for her in 2011. Seriously....destroyed it...and it took a year to do it!

Hi
Well I really want to be motivated to make that Santa Sack I didn't get to make for my daughter so that it's ready for next Xmas. I am not feeling the motivation to start sewing yet... any day now.

I have started an embroidery project - 70 two inch squares to celebrate my mother's 70th birthday. Each square will represent a time or person in her life that is important to her. I am powering on with 45 squares to finish before February 4th. Phew!!

I just made an a-line skirt yesterday- as a pattern to base another ruffled skirt on. I'm thrilled that "the pattern" skirt actually turned out and I can wear it as a real skirt! Hopefully the ruffled one will turn out as well- I'm still learning how to make clothes for myself.

My first project of 2012 was to quilt and bind my dh's t-shirt quilt which I finished last night, to his great joy, picture hubby doing a happy dance around the living room. Next up, baby blankets for my mom to give as a gift. At least I'm getting off to a good start

Hi! Love your blog and all the inspiration. My first project is going to be an Oliver + S pattern called the Music Box Jumper, for my five year old daughter. Or maybe an Olabelhe pattern called Sabrina's Dress. Or maybe Shoeology's Everyday Loafers for myself...or maybe...oh, I don't know! Too many good choices. :-)

My first sewing project is using up all my feed bags and making them into totes....They turn out well but aren't quite as fun to work with:)

I'm going to make 2 dog beds. They are going to be presents for my daughters for their new stuffed animal dogs that I bought them. I'm just waiting (impatiently!) for my fabric to arrive!

This coat is beautiful!!

My first sewing project of 2012 was a shop order for a fold-over waist skirt in organic jersey cotton. It was good to sew again after a couple of weeks break for the holidays. First up for me this year? I will either use Alisa Burke's petticoat tutorial to make myself one or make a tunic from Alabama Style 2, I can't decide which!!

My first project this year was a large travel duffel made with pre-quilted Amy Butler Fabric. I love it because it's perfect and it's just for me!! The coat pattern is gorgeous. I think it would look wonderful on my daughter! Thank you!

To my dismay (and a bit of satisfaction), my first sewing projects of 2012 were completing half-finished holiday gifts.

But with those out of the way, I'm pondering a new quilt.

Making two little pom-poms was my first project of 2012. But for a good reason! I'd spent the prior two days moving my sewing room from one end of the house to the other and was anxious to give it a try, so I created a quick and easy project. Now I am excited to start diving in on my wish list of things to make this year.... which includes this beautiful Abbey Coat!

This pattern is on my wish list to buy in 2012. I love love love this coat! My first sewing project this year was a jumper dress for my 3 yr old daughter who has had a need to pick out "her" fabric every time I go to the fabric store. It was a cute jumper from Farbenmix whose children's patterns I adore.

I have been paper piecing, template piecing and more piecing, catching up on bee blocks and getting the first ones of the year out of the way. I plan to make more clothes this year and this pattern would be a great start to something a little more challenging!

Thanks for offering the giveaway, i look forward to checking out your blog every day. I've already started my first sewing project for the year - patchwork placemats using the JoAnn's DS fabric. My husband was teasing me because we are still using our fall/Halloween placemats. I have a feeling he'll still give me a hard time because these look awfully spring-y and we have a long Pittsburgh winter to get through first. My next project is a blazer using some beautiful Shetland wool from fabric mart.
